It is best suited to sailors who weigh more than 65 kilogrammes (143 pounds) because weight, strength, and fitness are important in windy circumstances. Since the ILCA 7 has been utilised at the Olympic Games since 1996, Saravanan's accomplishment is very noteworthy.

Given his prior performances, Saravanan's triumph at the Asian Games 2023 is hardly unexpected. His first noteworthy accomplishment came in 2019, when he took home the Bronze medal in the Under-21 World Championships in Croatia.
