On September 29, they lost the gold medal match at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Tennis Centre Court to the Taiwanese team of Jason Jung and Yu-Hsiou Hsu 6-4, 6-4.

The Indian team gave up a break of serve in the fifth game, which proved to be crucial in the opening set's outcome. Myneni and Ramanathan maintained their serve to remain in the game at 3-5, but Taiwan finished the set in 35 minutes.

India was poised to make a comeback at 4-4. However, as Taiwan moved up 5-4, Myneni and Ramanathan lost their serve. In the end, the set was finished in 37 minutes, and the match was won in 1 hour, 12 minutes by Jung and Hsu.

Rutuja Sampatrao Bhosale and Rohan Bopanna will compete against Taiwan's Yu-Hsiou and Hao-ching Chan in the semi-final of the mixed doubles later in the day, giving India a chance to proceed to the gold medal match.
