India won gold medals in the women's 50m Rifle 3P Final on September 27 at the Asian Games 2023 thanks to Sift Kaur Simra and Ashi Chouksey.

India's successful shooting day at the Asian Games 2023. On September 27, Sift Kaur Simra and Ashi Chouksey won the gold and bronze medals in the women's 50m Rifle 3P Final, respectively.
Samra beat the previous world record of 467 points by finishing with 469.6 points. On the other side, Chouksey came in third with 451.9 points. She sat at position six in the standings for a long time before moving up to position two.
However, China's Qiongyue outperformed her by earning 462.3 points to take third place. Ultimately, Qiongyue took home the silver medal after placing second.
Chouksey and Samra competed on the Indian team that won the women's 50m Rifle 3P team event earlier in the day. Manini Kaushik, who was also a member of the team, disappointed by placing 18th in the individual competition.
China won the competition with a score of 1764, nine points ahead of India. With 1756 points, the Republic of Korea took third place.
Samra qualified for the individual final by placing second and setting a new national record with a score of 594. China's Xia Siyu won the qualification round despite having the same score as the Indian because she had more inner 10s.
Chouksey finished sixth with 590 points to go to the individual final as well. Kaushik scored 580 points and finished in 18th place.
The women's 25m rapid-fire pistol team event was then won by Esha Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan, who also took home the gold medal. They defeated China in a competitive race.
India has now earned nine medals, matching their total at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
