When Leah Williamson makes a pitch on Tuesday to combat gender stereotypes and equal the playing field for females throughout the world, she will make history as the first England women's footballer to speak the UN.

The England captain will attend the UN's Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) Summit in New York with other international leaders, and she will deliver the message, "Don't leave girls behind."

The Arsenal athlete will attend a one-on-one interview with Vee Kativhu, an advocate for girls' education.
Williamson will talk on her recent trip to Za'atari, the biggest Syrian refugee camp in the world, in Jordan, where she saw the positive effects football has had on the local communities and females.
Even while sport has the capacity to transform lives, there are still many females around the world who are not treated equally. Before giving her address, Williamson stated, "Football really altered my life.

"After visiting the Za'atari refugee camp, I was able to observe firsthand how our football initiative, Coaching for Life, is assisting the camp's female residents in overcoming their obstacles.
