F1: Max Verstappen selects the top five drivers of all time, but omits three legendary figures

Max Verstappen shared his selections for the best drivers in Formula One history.

When Max Verstappen listed the top five drivers in Formula One history, he did not include himself in the discussion. As he voiced his ideas, the Dutchman also disregarded four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and legendary French racer Alain Prost.

The current world champion is quickly becoming one of the most successful drivers in Formula One history. Only Lewis Hamilton (103) and Michael Schumacher (91) have won more Grand Prix races than Verstappen, who triumphed in Montreal on Sunday.
When Verstappen was asked to select his elite circle at the Canadian Grand Prix by DAZN Espana, both of the seven-time world champions of Formula One were in the top five. Ayrton Senna, Fernando Alonso, and Juan Manuel Fangio joined them on his list.
It is difficult to argue against the inclusion of Hamilton, Schumacher, and Senna as frequent responses to this question. Even though Alonso only had two World Championships to his credit, it is generally acknowledged that he had the skill to win many more during the course of his lengthy and storied career; nonetheless, poor decisions made at the wrong moments proved to be costly for him.

Additionally, he has a greater victory % (30.93) than both Schumacher (29.55) and Hamilton (30.21), and as Red Bull is still a formidable opponent for race wins on a regular basis despite a stumble at the beginning of the 2024 season, it seems probable that his record will only go better in the years to come.
