Injured De Jong will be out until the international break.

Before being replaced against Celta Vigo on Saturday, the 26-year-old Netherlands midfielder had played every minute of Barcelona's La Liga games so far this season.

According to Barca's Xavi, injured De Jong will be out until the international break.

After suffering an ankle injury over the weekend, Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona won't be able to play again until at least the following international break, according to manager Xavi.

Before being replaced against Celta Vigo on Saturday, the 26-year-old Netherlands midfielder had played every minute of Barcelona's LaLiga games so far this season.

He'll be a big loss for us, Xavi told the media on Monday. Given his excellent form, Frenkie is essential to our style of play.
Regarding the length of his ailment, it will truly rely on him, but we'll need to see how he feels after the upcoming international break (in October).
Later on Tuesday, Barcelona plays host to Real Mallorca before hosting Sevilla and travelling to Porto on October 4 for a Champions League group stage match. On October 8 before the break, it plays host to Granada in the league.

Xavi stated that due to midfielder Pedri's thigh injury and the next matches, he will have to rotate his squad.

For the upcoming LaLiga match as well as the Champions League match, we will rotate," he continued. Every game will feature an average of two to three players rotating; this is how we know we need to prevent injuries.
