India wins silver in the women's team event for the 10m Air Pistol thanks to Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya.

Asian Games 2023: Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya Subbaraju Thadigo scored 1731 points to lead India to the silver medal in the women's team 10m Air Pistol competition.

On Friday, September 29, the women's team representing India, consisting of Esha Singh, Palak Gulia, and Divya Subbaraju Thadigo, took home the silver medal in the 10m Air Pistol team competition. Ranxin Jian, Xue Li, and Nan Zhao, a Chinese trio, finished with 1731 points, five fewer than the trio from this team.

Esha and Palak also advanced to the individual event's championship round. Palak scored 577 points, while Esha finished with 579. Divya, on the other hand, came in 10th with 575 points and was unable to go to the final.

Yu Heng Liu, Chiaying Wu, and Ai-Wen Yu scored 1723 points, earning Taiwan the bronze. India's success in shooting helped them win their 14th medal this year thanks to Esha, Palak, and Divya.

Additionally, it was Esha's third medal in the current Asian Games. She had already won the silver medal in the women's 25-meter pistol competition. She had previously won the gold medal in the team competition with Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan.

India, meanwhile, surpassed their previous record for the most shooting medals won in a single Asian Games competition. India won 14 shooting medals at Doha back in 2006. After winning the men's 5 rifle 3 positions gold, India set a record.
