 Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik helped India win its 15th medal at the Asian Games in 2023 by placing second in the 50m Rifle 3P team competition.

After Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik led their country to a second-place result in the women's 50m Rifle 3P event in Hangzhou, India won their 15th medal and their sixth silver at the Asian Games 2023.


The shooting team has already taken home its sixth medal, bringing its total from Jakarta in 2018 to nine medals.


India came in second position with 1764 points, nine points behind China in first. The Indian three scored 292 and 290 in the kneeling position, 297 and 300 in the prone position, and 292 and 293 in the standing position.

Kyerim Lee, Sanghee Lee, and Eunseo Lee of the Republic of Korea finished with 1756 points to take home the bronze medal.

Samra from India had further cause to celebrate after placing second in the women's 50m Rifle 3P individual qualification round. She also set a 594 record at the national level. She and China's Xia Siyu were tied for first place on points, but the latter won because she had more inner 10s.

Chouksey qualified for the individual final as well after placing sixth overall with 590 points. After finishing the individual round in 18th place with 580 points, Kaushik had a difficult day.

India took up the gold in the women's 25m rapid-fire pistol event. Esha Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan of India took first place with 1759 points, three more than Chinese competitors.

Bhaker scored 590 points to win the qualification round as well. Esha and Sangwan, who each have 586 and 583 points, will also compete in the championship.
