Gautam Gambhir to Team India: Defeat Australia to win World Cup

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has made it clear that if India want to win the ICC World Cup 2023, they will have to defeat Australia. The two teams will clash in the global tournament on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Gambhir's thoughts:

Gambhir, who was one of the key members in India’s title triumphs in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup, shared his thoughts on Star Sports.

“If you wnat to win the World Cup, you will have to beat Australia. We defeated them in 2007 and 2011 and lifted the trophies,” he said.

"Australia is the strongest team in any ICC tournament. Rankings don’t matter. When it comes to big tournaments, Australia become very dangerous. They have the ability to play those tournaments really well,” he added.

Why Australia is a threat:

Australia is one of the most successful teams in the history of the Cricket World Cup, having won the tournament five times. They are also the champions 2015, having defeated New Zealand in the final of the World Cup.

Australia has a strong and balanced team, with world-class players in all departments. They have a strong batting lineup led by David Warner, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne. Their bowling attack is also very strong, with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins being some of the best bowlers in the world.

How India can defeat Australia:

India has a good record against Australia in recent years, having won 10 of their last 15 matches against the Aussies. However, Australia has always been a tough team to beat in big tournaments.

In order to defeat Australia, India will need to play their best cricket. They will need to bat well, bowl well, and field well. They will also need to be mentally tough and able to handle the pressure of playing in a big tournament.

India is one of the favorites to win the 2023 Cricket World Cup. However, they will need to defeat Australia if they want to lift the trophy. Australia is a strong and balanced team, but India has the talent and the ability to beat them
