Top-seeded At the Zhuhai Championships on Tuesday, Karen Khachanov defeated Yoshihito Nishioka 7-6 (2), 6-1 to win his first tour championship in over five years.


The 27-year-old Russian's victory completes an amazing return after suffering a stress fracture in his back while playing in just his second tour-level match since reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open in May.


Khachanov only lost one set while making it to the final. His fifth tour victory was his first since nearly five years ago in Paris.


At the Ningbo Open, Valeria Savinykh upset fifth-seeded Varvara Gracheva 7-5, 7-5, while Kamilla Rakhimova defeated sixth-seeded Arantxa Rus 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3. Third-seeded Sorana Cirstea defeated Claire Liu 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.

Last week's Guangzhou Open champion Wang Xiyu was defeated by Nadia Podoroska 7-6 (3), 6-4.
