Ali's worst performances in the exhausting 14-race event came in the second and third races, where he was disqualified and lost seven of his 59 total points. Ali ultimately finished with a significant 23-point lead over the silver medalist.

Neha, a student at the National Sailing School in Bhopal, came in second place overall with a net score of 27, only behind gold medalist Noppassorn Khunboonjan of Thailand. Neha finished with a total of 32 points.

In sailing, the net score is calculated by deducting the competitor's lowest cumulative score from all of the races from the total points. The winner is determined by who has the lowest net score.

Neha placed third overall with 32 points in the 11 races that make up the girl's dinghy ILCA-4 division. The sixth race, in which Neha received only five points and finished with a net score of 27, was her worst. The one-design dinghy class and sailboat known as the ILCA-4 belongs to the laser series.
