Tanvi Khanna was defeated by Sin Yuk Chan 6-11, 7-11, 3-11 in a match that lasted only 22 minutes, but Joshna Chinappa levelled the score by defeating Tze Lok Ho 7-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, and 11-8 to win the second match.
Despite her best efforts, Anahat Singh was defeated by Ka Yi Lee in the decisive 8-11, 7-11, and 10-12. In the third game, Anahat scored six straight points to attempt an unexpected comeback, but Lee stopped it.
At 4:00 PM IST, the men's squash semifinal between India and Malaysia will start. At the 2018 Asian Games, the Malaysian team earned gold while the Indian men's team took home bronze.
India now holds the fourth-place spot in the medal count with 31 medals, eight of which are gold.
