India should never appoint a vice-captain': Shastri's 'blunt and brutal' remark

Shastri's opinion,KL Rahul shouldn't be inserted into the starting lineup for the Asia Cup right away because the ODI World Cup will follow soon.

KL Rahul is reportedly fit and will be added back to the Indian squad for the Asia Cup, according to reports. Rahul will bat in the middle of the order and serve as the wicketkeeper if he returns to the team. Ravi Shastri, a former India coach, is opposed to the notion. Rahul shouldn't be included in the starting lineup right away for the Asia Cup, according to Shastri, because the ODI World Cup will follow soon.

"Notice when you bring up KL Rahul, a guy who hasn't played and is recovering from an injury. You're asking a little bit too much of the player if you consider him for the Asia Cup starting XI. Then you start talking about keeping. Shastri remarked on Star Sports, "like's a no no. When a person comes off an injury, the range of movement and things of like sort.

Rahul picked up a thigh injury during the IPL and had to pull out of the tournament. He was not part of the World Test Championship squad and also missed the West Indies tour. He has now recovered fully and was seen batting in a simulation match. It is Rahu’s fitness that has forced BCCI to delay the announcement of the Indian squad for the Asia Cup.
