After a shocking T20I defeat, Chapman disputes that New Zealand misjudged the UAE.

The tourists scored a below-par 142 for eight, which the UAE chased down with 26 balls remaining to secure its first victory against New Zealand in any format of the game after narrowly averting a loss in the opening match on Friday.

After suffering a shocking defeat to the underdog in the second T20 International match in Dubai on Saturday, New Zealand batsman Mark Chapman claimed that his team had treated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) lightly.

The tourists scored a below-par 142 for eight, which the UAE chased down with 26 balls remaining to secure its first victory against New Zealand in any format of the game after narrowly averting a loss in the opening match on Friday.

In the 12th over, New Zealand was floundering at 65 for five when Chapman, who top-scored for his team with a breezy 63, gave its score some respectability even though it ultimately wasn't enough.

The UAE captain Muhammad Waseem (55) and number four batter Asif Khan, who made a whirlwind 48, engineered a clinical chase to fashion its seven-wicket victory to level the series 1-1.
“I think we’ve seen associate cricket is going from strength to strength,” Chapman told reporters after the loss, denying lowering the guard against a team 13 rungs lower in the official rankings
That was made clear at the T20 World Cup in Australia, as certain associate teams defeated some Test nations. With some extremely competitive local events here, it's unsurprising to see how they've performed and how confident they are. It's creating some talented people.

Tim Southee, the captain of New Zealand, praised his rivals as well.

"The UAE team deserves a lot of the credit. In all three areas, they outperformed us, Southee said.

We made a couple errors that were identical to those from the previous day, and we were punished as a result. We definitely didn't learn enough from that experience. We simply need to improve in all three areas.
