Ten Hag says there are no excuses for Manchester United's worst Premier League start.

That destiny was visited upon Ten Hag's team by Palace's Joachim Andersen in the first half, and at the conclusion of the game, the Old Trafford crowd booed them off.

Erik ten Hag stated after Manchester United's 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at home on Saturday that there can be no justifications for the club's worst-ever Premier League start.

United hasn't lost four of its first seven league games since the 1989–1990 campaign.

That destiny was visited upon Ten Hag's team by Palace's Joachim Andersen in the first half, and at the conclusion of the game, the Old Trafford crowd booed them off.

There are no excuses; we must succeed. I can offer you explanations, but you'll just use them as an excuse, Ten Hag remarked.

We must be more consistent; Man Utd does not require this. We must obtain a string of victories in order to enter a series. We must improve on what we're doing presently.

Prior to Brighton's triumph at Old Trafford two weeks ago, United had gone 31 home games without a loss.

However, earlier in the season, the Red Devils were fortunate to defeat Wolves and Nottingham Forest at home.

Ten Hag continued, "We need to perform better here.

We must convey through our body language that Old Trafford is a stronghold and that nothing can be obtained there.

Even though United had 19 efforts on goal, they lacked their usual cutting edge in the last third of the pitch.

Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, and Bruno Fernandes were all guilty of squandering opportunities.

We were really close a lot of the time, so you have to be clinical, focused, and smart, Ten Hag remarked.

"Aim for the prize. We are capable of scoring a goal.

In contrast, Palace manager Roy Hodgson was ecstatic after becoming the first Premier League coach to go five straight games at Old Trafford without losing.

The Eagles had lost to United 3-0 in the League Cup matchup during the previous week, but they had come back after being fully healthy.

"I guess I'm pleased with the record. Hodgson expressed his happiness with the team's performance today and his joy for the players.

"It's not easy coming up here for the second time in a few days, and that performance, and to work that hard and defend as well as we did, is what gives me the most satisfaction."

With a win, Palace jumps over United and into ninth place in the Premier League standings.
