In the Asian Games 2023 match against Mongolia, Nepal's batters broke three global records, making them the first team to score over 300 runs in a T20I on Wednesday. Left-handed batsman Kushal Malla, 19, beat David Miller and Rohit Sharma's previous record by scoring the fastest-ever T20I hundred in just 34 balls.
At No. 3, Malla smashed 12 sixes and eight fours while scoring 137 runs while remaining unbeaten, leading Nepal to their highest-ever T20I total of 314 for 3 against Mongolia, who elected to field. With a nine-ball fifty that broke Yuvraj Singh's 16-year record, their No. 5 batsman Dipendra Singh Airee also changed the record books. On September 19, 2007, Yuvraj played against England in a World T20 competition, scoring 58 runs while needing 12 balls to get his fifty.
