Prior to Liverpool's League Cup match against Leicester City, Alexander-Arnold is back in training.

Prior to Tuesday's League Cup third-round encounter against Leicester City, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders revealed that defender Trent Alexander-Arnold had resumed training on Monday.

Trent looked great throughout yesterday's training sessions in rondos and counter-pressing, Lijnders informed reporters prior to Wednesday's matchup at home against Leicester.

For him, tomorrow arrives too soon.
On Wednesday, Liverpool will take on a Leicester team that has a good chance of winning promotion back to the top division. The 2016 Premier League champions are currently leading the Championship standings after winning seven of their first eight games.

We are aware that the team we are playing against possesses considerable talent, as evidenced by their performance in the league, according to Lijnders.

Each of them could play in the Premier League, in my opinion, and this coach (Enzo Maresca) does an incredible job with them. It will be challenging for us to manage their guys and put pressure on them.

We shall, as always, concentrate on ourselves. We will adjust, but our goal is to dominate and play on their half of the field. The best approach to stop them is for us to apply tremendous pressure. We have to protect and honour them.

Lijnders also praised Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who became the fifth player to score or provide an assist in each of his team's first six Premier League games of the season with his goal in Sunday's 3-1 victory over West Ham United.

We have a very exceptional player and mentor on our hands, and he is breaking record after record. "A leader," stated Lijnders.
