The Indian men's 3x3 basketball team kept up its winning streak and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Games here on Wednesday with a resounding victory over Macao in a Pool C match.
Sahaij Pratap Singh Sekhon led India to a 21-12 victory over Macao by scoring a game-high 10 points.
Hou In Ho, who led Macao with five points, was the lone bright spot in the game.
Malaysia had earlier lost to India 20–16 on the opening day of the competition.
On Friday, the men's team will play China, the gold medalist from the previous event, while the women's team will play China later in the day.
At the Asian Games 2023, Indian fencers Taniksha Khatri, Jyotika Dutta, and Ena Arora assisted India in defeating Jordan 45-36 in the women's epee team table of 16 match. The Indian team defeated 45-25 against top-seeded Republic of Korea in their quarterfinal encounter.
On the other side, the Indian men's foil team dropped their table-of-16 match against Singapore earlier in the day.
In other sports, Ankita Raina and Sumit Nagal's elimination on Wednesday, September 27, put an end to India's singles tennis campaign. However, India is still in the running for the mixed doubles title.
