Indian equestrian team writes history at the Asian Games in 2023 by taking home the gold medal after 41 years.
At the Asian Games, India won a gold medal in equestrian for the first time since 1982. With a total score of 209.205, the Indian team won the Team Dressage competition. China came in second with 204.882, while Hong Kong China took third with 204.852.
Sudipti Hajela, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Anush Gaarwalla, and Divyakriti Singh of the Indian team made history by taking home the country's first gold medal in an equestrian dressage competition.
India only won their 13th medal overall and fourth gold medal in the equestrian competition at the Asian Games. The 1982 Asian Games in Delhi were where India won all three of its equestrian gold medals. India also won Team Eventing, while Raghubir Singh won the Individual Eventing Gold. An individual tent pegging gold medal went to Rupinder Singh Brar.
