In the Club World Cup, Man City will play either Club Leon or Urawa Red Diamonds.

As was announced in February, the first Club World Cup will be hosted in Saudi Arabia from December 12–22. The competition will be place in two locations in the city of Jeddah.

Following the draw on Tuesday, the European champion Manchester City will play either Club Leon of Mexico or Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan in the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia in December.

The Copa Libertadores champions will play either Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, Auckland City of New Zealand, or Al Ahly of Egypt in the other semifinal.

Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Pro League champion, will open the competition against Auckland City as the host nation's champion.

Al-Ittihad aims to emulate Al-Hilal's performance from the previous season, when the latter became the first Saudi club to reach the final. Real Madrid, the most successful team in the competition with five titles, defeated it in the decisive game.

There are currently no former holders of this year's edition. The only past winners still eligible to compete for the last spot are Internacional of Brazil.

The winner of the Copa Libertadores final on November 4 will determine who will represent CONMEBOL, with Boca Juniors of Argentina and Palmeiras, Fluminense, and Internacional of Brazil competing.
