Argentina midfielder Rodrigo De Paul of Atletico Madrid will not play in their La Liga encounter against Valencia on Saturday due to a thigh injury sustained while serving his country, the club announced.

De Paul left Tuesday's World Cup qualifying victory for Argentina over Bolivia late due to muscle strain and did not participate in club practise upon his return to Madrid.

De Paul has already begun physical treatment sessions and will work on his recovery in the gym, according to a statement released by Atletico on Friday.
According to Spanish media, the 29-year-old will also miss Atletico's Tuesday Champions League match against Lazio but is anticipated to be healthy for next week's derby against Real Madrid at home.

Adding to the injury-related absences of Memphis Depay, Koke, Reinildo Mandava, Caglar Soyuncu, and Diego Simeone's team is De Paul.
