Cricket Association for Blind laments lack of financial support from BCCI

CABI on Monday announced that it will be sending its men’s and women’s teams for the IBSA World Games, scheduled to commence in Birmingham on August 19.

The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) renewed its appeal to the BCCI for financial support, saying that while spiritual support was greatly appreciated, financial assistance would help raise the sport's standards in the nation.

The IBSA World Games, which will begin in Birmingham on August 19, will feature teams from both the men's and women's CABI on August 19.

This year, the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games will include cricket. CABI is hoping that the success of its teams at the international competition would propel blind cricket to new heights.

We established the DCCI (Differently Abled Cricket Council of India) at the BCCI's request. At a news conference on Monday, CABI chairman GK Mahantesh remarked, "We are not receiving financial support from the BCCI, but we do have their moral backing as they help us by organising venues for our matches.
